Sweet Steel Cut Oats
Ingredients
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts, fresh or dried fruit, honey, additional milk or cream
Instructions
- Rinse the steel cut oats under running water and drain well.
- Add the oats, milk, water, brown sugar/maple syrup, cinnamon and salt to the rice cooker. Close the lid and select the “porridge” or “slow cook” setting.
- Let the oats cook for about an hour, or until the rice cooker switches to the “keep warm” mode.
- Stir and serve the oats hot, topped with your toppings of choice.
